[ You'll find Amelia holed up as usual, though this time, rather than in her office or her dormitory, it's in the library. While she only frequented the library for parchment and reference, you'll find her in the commons area, in a comfy chair, by the fireplace. The fireplace ebbed only slightly, the recent moisture and springtime air in the ( Read more... )

[ And where else would Dr. Doppler be aside from his office or the library? He actually walks by the common area before doing a double-take at realizing she's there and... Asleep.

That's good. She needed it, and he won't wake her. He just sets his stack of books on the small table nearby and, even if it's not needed, takes off his jacket to lay it over her like a blanket. He even gives the fact that she's curled up with a rifle a somewhat fond look and doesn't stop to think about why.

Then, of course, he sits down in another chair near-by and starts to read. ]

[ Just like her to have crash landed mid duty. Then again, she'd been in the chair for god knows how long. Perhaps she wasn't patrolling, merely sitting in the chair, trying to map out their last little incident from Delbert's point-of-view. Either way, she'd gotten so comfortable (believe it or not, at the scene.) she fell asleep. Stirring only momentarily at the gesture, her subconscious attention goes from the rifle to the coat. To her, it's as if she's fallen asleep in a bed that vaguely reminded her of him, and soon the rifle rested against the arm of the easy chair forgotten.

Only for you would she let her guard down, Doctor. Her ears prick slightly at every page-turn. Shouldn't be anything to worry about right? ]

[ Surely not! He doesn't even really notice it at first and, when he does, only pauses to wonder briefly if the page-turning might be disturbing to her. She hadn't stirred, though, and so he assumed not.

Conclusion drawn, he returned to the book, while perhaps attempting to (somehow) turn the pages more quietly. ]

[ Oh, but it is. Amelia's subconscious has caught onto the sudden change of sound, and she's awoken. She won't let you know that just yet, of course. The Captain will just smile while you're hidden behind that book, amused at your manners. She manages a somewhat gentle yet nipping tone. ]

Not to worry, Delbert.

Arrow couldn't read quietly to save his life.
