[Things haven't been going so great for Ray since he got to the Academy. Sure, he's made a couple of nice acquaintances, but when he'd been there barely two weeks and then classes started getting cancelled due to a dangerous Mist and people going missing? That's some pretty terrible luck

He'd finally snuck out of his father's dorm--it made sense that he wanted them to stay close after the mistnapping, but come on--and went for a midnight stroll when he saw the lantern. Curious, he walked over and quietly sat next to him.]
