 [Things haven't been going so great for Ray since he got to the Academy. Sure, he's made a couple of nice acquaintances, but when he'd been there barely two weeks and then classes started getting cancelled due to a dangerous Mist and people going missing? That's some pretty terrible luck

[And that this little artificial human does, and he's tilting his head slightly in curiosity upon seeing one of his acquaintances siting alone.

He'd finally snuck out of his father's dorm--it made sense that he wanted them to stay close after the mistnapping, but come on--and went for a midnight stroll when he saw the lantern. Curious, he walked over and quietly sat next to him.]

Don't listen to the whole buddy system rule either, huh.

[Ray notices Mera and turns to face him, laughing a bit]

Ain't no curfew gonna keep ol' Ray locked inside fo'eva.

Good; it's not exactly that fun being the only rule breaker. [read: he likes his stargazing.]

[Elisa spotted the light in the distance from her office window. After heading down the stairs and creeping closer to confirm that it wasn't some sort of entity sent by the Mist, she came to the conclusion that it was a student breaking curfew.

She didn't blame them for suffering from cabin fever, but, whether they liked it or not, the rules were in place for a reason.]

I think you know you're not supposed to be here.

[Her voice was gentle but authoritative, but, instead of ordering back inside, she surprised even herself by sitting down next to him.]

Just a few more minutes, ok? Then I'll have to escort you back to your room.

[As she sits down with him, Ray glances at her sadly, clutching his lantern tight as it's glow dims...]
