Vidia wasn't sure where she stood on the subject, but the sight of the girl rocking back and forth on the bed made even her stomach twist. Her eyes flutter to the window she was outside; was it open?]
[For days even the slightest little noise had been making Jane jump. The sound she heard from the window was no different, and she leaped up from the bed in fright.
She had locked the windows just to be safe, but instead of finding a hidous strangling outside staring at her like she feared, she saw....
[She rubbed her eyes, thinking she surely had to be hallucinating. But there it remained, floating there and smiling.
Slowly Jane approached the window and undid the lock. Her eyes widened more when she looked at it up close. Goodness, it was lovely. Just... just like in her mother's stories.]
[Lotso wasn't faring much better, either. He hadn't slept at all since his nightmarish coma, but that luckily hadn't left much of a physical effect on him... sleeping wasn't exactly necessary for toys. It was the memories of the dream that still haunted him, however. They wouldn't leave, like a movie on repeat in the back of his mind. Everything was out of order, missing pieces, and the recurring nightmares sent shivers through him, aching through every stitch, seam and ancient wound.
It was maddening.
But for all of his own struggling, he was still terribly worried over Jane. She was younger, she had so much that she had already been fretting about... seeing her in such a shattered state makes him feel honestly heartbroken. Something he never thought he'd experience again.
After a worried moment of silence, he sits beside her and wraps his arms around her waist, holding her in a tight hug. It's the best he can do.]
[She jumps slightly when she feels the sudden touch. She had been so out of it that she hadn't even realized he was in the room with her at all. After her brief moment of panic passes, she lifts the bear up into her lap with shaky hands.
Her darn hands hadn't stopped shaking for days. Why wouldn't this terrible feeling of dread and crippling fear let her be? She couldn't take it anymore. She hugs the bear tightly and buries her face into the fur on his head.]
...oh Mr. Lotso. I...I...
[That's all she can even manage to choke out before breaking down into soft weeping.]
[The tears feel strange against his fur.. He's never liked being soggy or wet, but tears were different than rain. He could feel the warmth from them. The tremble in her hands and in her shaky sobs only prompts him to embrace her tighter]
Oh, Jane... Hush now, it'll be alright... everythin's gonna be okay..
[Word for word, he feels he's said all of this before, on multiple occasions. And just as it was then, he's not sure of the truth of it. As much as he wishes he did.]
[She needed to pull herself together. For goodness sakes, the ordeal was over now, and an adult wouldn't be crying like this. She begins wiping away her tears best she can, but more continue to form in her eyes.]
I... oh, I'm sorry! [She gently places him back beside her so as not to soak him anymore.]
