[Theres a noise, something organic and raw. The ground shakes a bit and you will be jolted out of your sleep. Get to a window and you'll see a flicker, the fence which has stood strong and proud against the black mist... the strangelings.... it's flickering.

[Rapunzel is so confused, clutching her few precious belongings to her chest, Pascal on her shoulder and looking around warily. She doesn't quite know where they're going, but she's following everyone anyway... But she wants to know where Flynn and her mother and all her friends are.]

[Nope, she's gone, hurrying away. She has to find the thief - She doesn't know why, but she does and that's that.]

/he's running down the hall, glancing around. How hard could it be to spot a head of REALLY long blonde hair/

[She bumps into him pretty much on accident while searching for him and she reflexively half-turns with a murmured "Sorry!" But then she stops and turns to face him fully, eyes widening.]

Flynn! Flynn, you made it, you're okay!

Hey! /he reflexively brings his hands down on her shoulders, more to keep them both from being knocked over in the evacuation chaos/

You alright? You haven't been hitting anyone with frying pans, have you?

[There's a little laugh out of that, but she's so relieved to see him that she has to sniffle once] No- No, I haven't.

I- I just wanted to make sure that you got to the safe place, too. Megamind says we're all separated, so- I had to make sure...

Hey, you know me. Like a little thing like a school wide emergency would keep me down.

/and he pauses, looking to one side with a thoughtful frown/ Why does stuff like this always happen right when I show up?

[Another little laugh. That... was a joke, right?]

We should hurry, then. We have to get someplace safe with everybody else.

Yeah. But you know-- separate.

/he sags a little at this, clearly displeased/

Guess it's too late to run away, huh?

[She gives him a little look] No, Flynn.

Besides... there isn't- really anywhere to run to, I think...

/his hands are still on her shoulders, and he looks her dead in the eye/ You alright? You got this?

[She just looks up at him for a moment, then shuts her eyes and takes a deep breath. When she opens them again, she looks much more serious]

Yes. I got it.

Good. Good. And I'll see you on the flip side, alright? It's probably nothing. I bet someone was just bored with classes and someone pulled the mist alarm or something.

/pulls back, and then snaps his fingers/

Oh! I almost forgot.

/he pulls that book he'd tossed in his bag earlier out, and hands it to her/

I know I promised to read it to you, but. Well. You're gonna have to wait for that one.

[She blinks down at the book as she takes it from him, eyes wide... Then she looks up at Flynn... And then presses the book tight against her chest, smiling slightly.]

You'll read it to me after everything's over? I'd like to see you act it out, after all.
