[Scar was trapped in the library.

Well, no, not really, but he had made the mistake of venturing out while the rain took a momentary break to settle for a dense, wet fog, and he's not about to go back outside now that it's begun downpouring again. Better to stalk the rows upon rows of shelves than pace around his room all day, which had recently ( Read more... )

[Nope. Nothing in his language or interest. For an institution of learning, there really is a minimal selection of works from Alexandria.

His eyes catch sight of the God skulking around and walks toward him. Moses' expression is more pleasant than usual.]

Good day, sir.

[Scar gives him a nod of greeting, though it's clear he doesn't think it's a good day at all.]

The same to you, [he sighs.] Moses, was it?

Yes, it is.

You do not care for the rain, I take it.

Not particularly, no. You appear in high enough spirits, though.

[Poor Scar. At least you're not alone. Beast had done pretty much the same thing... except that he wanted to return to his room. He didn't like being around all the people that flocked to the library.

So here's Beast trying to make heads or tails out of a book. He can't find any pictures, and it's a little bit disheartening.]

[Scar recognizes this great animal as the one he had met outside during that unpleasant little 'drill,' if that's what the mouse insisted upon calling it. But... oh, he had a book? How curious, what did an animal want with a book?

He passes by, but, not wanting to interrupt, merely pauses for a moment, vaguely curious.]

[Beast doesn't like the book. WHY ARENT THERE ANY GODDAMNED PICTURES? He puts it back.]

This library is stupid.

[He could tell that Scar was near, but he was more talking to himself.]

[Scar gives a delicate sniff of amusement from behind the Beast and takes a step forward to stand beside his chair.]

I could not agree more. Why the students insist upon spending so much time in here, I cannot imagine.

[Rasputin is researching. And when we say 'researching,' we mean mostly hidden by massive stacks of books. He has been ignoring the footsteps thus far, but at the click click sound of claws, he peaks around the edge of of one of the stacks to see a lion stalking the rows. A very large lion at that.]

"Now we have pets at this school. Charming," he muttered, turning back to his work.

[Scar stops short. Pet? No, that would not do. Rich, coming from a human who resembled a fetid corpse.]

Excuse me?

[Rasputin's head shot back around the side of the books in surprise. He thought only his dear Bartok could speak. It appears as if the small bat was not alone in this respect. Also, the very large lion looked rather angry and he did not want to piece himself together again after an expected attack. Instead, he stood and gave a short but courteous bow.]

My apologies, sir.

[Yes, that would do fine. He hoped. Rasputin was bitter and perhaps some would call him evil, but he was not stupid enough to argue with a creature who's paws were larger than his head.]

[Scar rolled his eyes.]

You must be new here. A talking lion should not surprise you in the slightest.

[Jade's been in the library for a couple of hours, looking for some spell books. She's taking a break from Uncle's chi spell book since it's starting to get boring, though being in this place is just as bad. She's itching to get outside and run in the rain but she can't lose her resolve now.

That is until she spots a freakin' lion in the room.]

Ah! [Yeah, yelling is totally okay in a library.]

[Scar winces at the sound, then glares around for its source. Kings above, weren't libraries supposed to be quiet?

He spots Jade and shakes his head -- another child.]

[This face forever.]

What the heck?! Why is there a lion in the library?

I thought libraries were meant to be quiet places of study.
