Anything with big daddy!

charlotte hardly remembers how old she was now, seven or eight, she supposes, when miss eudora came in to finish the lace trim on her new princess dress, and all the while she looked so sad. charlotte said thank you so, so much when she was finished, and miss eudora tried her hardest to smile, it looked like, like it hurt.

she saw big daddy hug miss eudora for a long time, with his eyes closed, rubbing her back, and she'd always known he was big, but she'd always thought that was just because she was little. but now he was hugging a grown-up lady, and he still looked so big and soft, like the biggest pillow in the world. she sure was lucky to have a daddy like that, she thought, and she wondered why miss eudora was crying
