In a world where Mulan's true identity was never exposed and she helped save China while in disguise, she's lived for over a year now as Fa Ping, trusted advisor to the Emperor. As the Emperor only had daughters, he's starting to see Ping as a son, and is grooming "him" to be his heir.
Word comes that King Fergus of Scotland is reaching out to new kingdoms around the world for alliances, and the Emperor decides to send Ping to Duloch to meet with the King. While there in disguise as Ping, Mulan catches the eye of the king's beautiful daughter, Merida.
