Sleeping Beauty

The three "good" fairies were once the ones who decided the fates of children- if Flora said for a child to be 'pink', the child took his first breath in the world, and survived. If Merriweather said for a child to be 'blue', the child died as an infant.
They often fought, with Fauna as the mediator, until one day she grew angry with her sister's childish squabbling, and cursed a child to be 'green'.
The years went on, and Flora, Fauna and Merriweather grew old- even for the fae folk, and they matured, and let go of that aspect of their lives, trying to atone for when they treated children like play toys.
But the child who was green grew up alone, unloved and friendless until she became a sorceress determined to unleash her own pain among those who scorned her.
So, Fauna!angst, or Fauna trying to fix things, or Sleeping Beauty through Fauna's eyes with this background, or anything else, but Fauna!angst at being the reason Maleficent was so hated.
Or even Fauna finding a way to save Maleficent during the final battle, but

H-how does one come up with prompts like this? SERIOUSLY THIS IS AMAZING. The way pink-blue squabbling is used here is very creative, and a fluffy "saving Maleficent" ending would make me really happy!

Maleficent never knows, or at least shows no sign that she does. She hates Flora, Fauna and Merryweather as much as she hates any other creature that might be as powerful as she, or perhaps a little more since they dare to walk in realms close to hers, to call themselves ‘fairies’ in order to seem safe, and offer gifts to humans in penitence for what they have done. They interrupt her games, and she hates them for it

OP
This is beautiful! Thank you so much for filling it. :D I love the imagery you used, and the way that the Pink/Blue argument is explained, along with their "growing up", and the ending with Fauna taking her in, and the new name! All of it was lovely~

Thank you! This was an amazing prompt, and I've been mulling over it for a while before putting this together. I really love some of the ideas that people have with Sleeping Beauty.
