The next year Olivia gets her first corset. She practically skips all the way back from the shop, clutching the parcel with her early present to her chest. When they get home, she disappears with it into her room while he starts running some experiments connected with the latest case. After a while, Basil feels a pair of eyes on his back and turns to find her peeking out from behind her door shyly. “I didn’t want to interrupt,” she says quietly, “but I need some help with the laces.” She steps out from behind the door slightly, and his usually active brain shuts off momentarily when confronted with the sight of her in her bloomers and corset

Oh how wonderful this fill is!! I loved the part where he helped her tie up her corset laces - oooh, such naughtyness! - and Basil's jealousy with the gentlemouse caller was a nice touch, too~ I normally don't go for lolita type stories, but I love Basil and Olivia and they fit into the roles so well~ Great work!!

Olivia had been taking dance lessons since she had begged for them after a client had paid using tickets to the local ballet, and now Basil and Dawson sat in the audience at Olivia’s first recital, Dawson chatting happily with the other parents while they waited. Basil tried to remain aloof, not wanting to associate himself with the motherly housewife types who made up the majority of the audience. As lights finally dimmed and the young mice pranced out onstage, someone cried into a handkerchief, “they just grow up so fast!” “Really?” Basil murmured to himself, half in reply as he watched his young charge twirl about, “and I was just thinking she couldn’t possibly grow up fast enough.”
