[Frollo rounds a corner and nearly collides with a swinging Rapunzel -- his eyes widen and he has to duck out of the way before she hits him face on as she zooms around a tree trunk.]

What the-- good Lord, young lady, get down at once!

[That tone of voice instantly reminds Rapunzel of her mother, which of course is enough of a shock to make her momentarily freeze up. And of course she obeys the order, lowering herself to the ground and stumbling only slightly when her feet meet the grass. She blinks up at Frollo, eyes wide as she starts pulling her hair to her]

I-I'm so sorry, I didn't-- I didn't hurt anybody, did I? 'Cause I didn't mean to-- Is everything okay?

Yes, yes, fine... [Frollo straightens his robes irritably and sets his hat back in proper place. When he looks back up, his eyebrows practically disappear beneath the hat's brim as he takes in the sheer length of the girl's hair. Extraordinary.]

[She's started fidgeting by that point, running her fingers anxiously through a section of her hair]

Oh... Oh, good. Sorry, I was just, um. Enjoying the weather! Guess I got a little carried away...

Indeed... [He still can't take his eyes off of Rapunzel's hair, and eventually he scowls and lifts his chin.]

That is not the only thing about you that has gotten carried away, I cannot help but notice. Your hair is... quite remarkable. [Isn't that usually a compliment? Certainly doesn't sound like one when Frollo says it...]

O-Oh... [That didn't really sound like a compliment at all. But-- surely he means it as one, right?] Um... Thank you?

It really does come in handy for reaching things and- and for climbing trees, and all kinds of things, really!

And is that why you've grown it to such a length? Because it comes in handy?

No, I- I grow it out because- because it- ...

[She goes quiet for a minute, worrying at her lower lip with her teeth]

[Frollo gives a derisive snort. It's hair, it cannot be that complicated.]

Very well, if you insist on being secretive about a matter you make so plainly obvious to even the most disinterested passerby...
