singer vs. vocalist: what's the difference?

I always think of singers as people who can really sing. Like power. I has no power.

Now I'm all excited about being a tenor. In highschool it freaked me out.

ah. i get it now. yeah, we gots that. seven years of training and seven of being in a band will do that. :P

in competition in high school i remember there was a girl trying out as a tenor. i was impressed by it then, too, and surprised they let her do it, but then again i couldn't think of any reason for them not to, if she could hit the notes.

I had a very weird choir teacher who only liked high alto/soprano ranges. As a result our jazz choir was really bad.

So I went back to jazz band. Kept the singing to myself until after high school I got duped into being the singer for a swing band. Now I sing at my desk. *shifty eyes*
