This morning I linked to the Clarksburg Exponent-Telegram which is the largest daily paper in north-central West Virginia. The Journal actually has a well-maintained and reliable website. It's a bit ad-clogged, but otherwise good.

Of course, I might just be saying that because my dad is part of the Journal's web design crew, but, you know, whatever.

I'd say that most of the Albuquerque outlets do a good job. I have minor little complaints/questions, such as the way the television stations appear to embargo video until after their morning news. If I see something reported at six or ten, I'd like to be able to reaccess it before the morning shows are through with it, but this may also have to do with the hours of their webcrew.

As you say, the Journal also does an outstanding job. I don't often link to it from these pages because of the whole "only paid subscribers" thing, but they do an outstanding job and I'm sure if you were to mention to your father about the dark site in WV, he'd probably have a lot to say about the matter. I know when I told my wife, she suggested that their tech not come back from the holidays. Though, it's clearly a corporate problem and it can't be attributed to one person taking a deserved vacation.
