Is Haley Barbour a racist or something? He kind of sounds like a hick...and that state has a LARGE minority population.

I hate the tsunami comparisons they keep making...but at least they are right in a way...a lot of the damage could have been prevented if people were better prepared for something they KNEW would happen one day.

It may not have been completely fair for me to insinuate Mr Barbour, as being nothing but a racist. He's really no worse than any other politically-calculating, POS redneck. Most of his racism has been subtle. I googled-up an interesting bio written by someone, obviously not a friend, but his tendencies are addressed.

He first came to my attention during the Clinton administration. Haley Barbour was the voice of the Republican party, all the way up through the impeachment and though I haven't done a count, he definitely qualifies among the top 10, non-journalists, when it comes to Meet the Press appearances during the Russert era. He's a good old boy, who knows how to stroke his constituency and he's such a divisive figure because of the hyperbolic nonsense he'll spew, I'm really surprised I didn't notice his election.

He was also Bush's campaign manager, I believe...and much like Bush he's adopted an accent and dumbed-down way of speaking that I think is entirely false.
