Discovered in a Sketchbook: What Happened Next...

Sep 19, 2007 22:15

Hope I'm not too late to contribute! I kinda threw this together as soon as I got back home from ZebraCon so please forgive me if it needs refining. I didn't want to be too late.

Crimson's drawing was absolutely beautiful and made me want to see what Bodie did next. Many thanks to Crimson for her inspirational drawing!

Oh my, but this is utterly gorgeous. The play of muscles in Doyle's back, Bodie's possessive hand, Doyle's forearms, all lovely. And I can't believe you've done it since you got back from ZCon!

Thanks, hon! I saw the challenge before heading off to ZCon and was thinking about it the whole time I was away. When I got home Sunday evening, I spent some time finding some source materials to work from, threw it all together and have been working on this every spare moment since then. I usually take more time and dither a bit with things but sometimes they come together quickly. :-) I like those kinds of paintings.

It was wonderful getting the chance to meet you this past weekend! I wish we'd had more time to talk but things were a bit crazy. :-) I'm so glad you were there! Thanks for your kind comments and I'll talk with you later!

I love all your pieces and appreciate those you do take more time with, but I have to say that I think the bolder brush strokes really work here. Give it a real strength.

I definitely wish we'd had more time to talk on the weekend (it's always hard at cons, trying to talk to everyone as much as you'd like) but I'm so glad we did finally meet in person. We'll definitely talk later!

I'll look forward to talking with you again soon! :-) And thanks again for your kind words about this painting. I keep looking at it and seeing things I can change, but am resisting because you like it the way it is. :-)

Bodie's hand, and Doyle's hands, and the composition...I'm just speechless.

Thank you for this.

Thanks so much, hon! I'm so glad you liked it and am thrilled that it works for you.

It was wonderful seeing you at ZCon and I hope you had a safe and good trip home. I worried about you on the plane with your knee and I hope it's healing up well. Take care and I hope I will see you again soon! Thanks again for your comment! :-)

Really lovely- I've been flicking from the prompt pic to this and thinking how the interaction changes - there's an intriguing little story between the two of them. Doyle's arms are absolutely perfect!

Thanks so much for your very kind comments! :-) I got to meet you at ZCon! I couldn't believe you came all the way from Australia and was just thrilled to meet you and your friend. I don't know if you remember me but I remember you! :-)

I hope you had a wonderful time at the con and that your trip across the west to LA was good! Thanks for coming by and for your lovely words! Maybe someone would be willing to write a little story about what happened between Crimson's drawing and mine. ;-) That would be wonderful!

Oh, my goodness!!!! I really love it!!! It's totally breathless, amazing and WONDERFUL! I can't leave my eyes off!!! Doyle's bum and Bodie's possessive hand... It's PERFECT!

BTW, I had a glimpse of paris7am's article of ZebraCon, she mentioned your portraits of Bodie and Doyle. These are incredibly gorgeous!!!! Whenever I see your masterpieces, I can't help being impressed! You're a professional artist, aren't you?

I hope you don't get multiple postings of this--I've tried to post it three times now! :-)

Thanks so much for your very kind comment! I'm very pleased you liked my painting! You are very sweet. :-) I *loved* your drawing of B&D kissing--it was beautifully done and just gorgeous!

Thanks for letting me know about the ZebraCon update by paris7am--she did a great job describing what happened there and I was surprised and pleased to see she had photographed my two paintings in the auction. I do have a number of new paintings I've not posted yet, two of them are the ones she photographed.

Young Bodie: Mean and Moody
Doyle's Green Eyes
Touch

Thank you again for your very kind words. I'm not a professional artist--I tried to be one after I finished school but I failed. :-/ I went back to school and now am a painting conservator, which means I restore old and damaged paintings. :-)

Take care and thanks again for your very kind comments! Keep doing your beautiful drawings! :-)

I have to say, I think Young Bodie has to be my favorite of yours. Of all the work you've done, it's hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to pick one (so far!), this is it.
