Doyle’s mouth slanted, eyes squeezing partway shut. He stroked from gray tabby head to energetic tail. The cat rubbed against his tilted chin.

Bodie crossed his arms. “He’ll scratch your eyes out in your sleep. You’ll forget to feed him and he’ll die.”
