I'm not really sure this is a good idea, and I am absolutely invoking Pago Pago time (it's four minutes to midnight on the 31st August there, as I type this), but I really wanted to post something for this challenge (even if I'm sure it's not at all what jaycat92 or cornishcat had in mind for the theme ( Read more... )

Yes, this is definitely what I had in mind when we suggested the theme. I loved your variant use of the notebook, giving its ownerhip to someone other than a reporter. Brill!

Oh well that's good! I'd been trying to come up with a terse news-item story, but... but then I saw Bodie with his notebook again, and... *g*

I enjoyed that very much. I like how that notebook had a part in the story. Poor Bodie! I'm glad that his white knight has arrived. Thanks!

Poor Bodie. It seems most of the stories I'm reading lately, he's the one getting bashed. *g*

Loved the sly digs, playing off each other and pretty much how they said nothing important in the notebook, but read everything that wasn't said.

Very sly of Doyle to slip that notebook back into Bodie's pocket, and very good that Bodie found it when he needed it.

Doyle to the rescue! Yay!

Lovely story and you can tie them up in cold basements any time you want (as long as they eventually get rescued!).

I usually bash Doyle, so this is quite the departure for me, but I have noticed that the vast majority of whumping tends to be of Bodie, over the last few years...

And thank you! *g*

What can I say, I just like your writing style. What you write about comes second. But hey, a hurt Bodie in a basement is always welcome ;) Thank you!

I like this a lot. Melancholy and thoughful, partner worry, H/C...well without much 'C,' but we know it's coming. I enjoyed the brooding feeling as if everything could end and is so fragile. Also lovely banter/fun with the lads, jokes, etc. I especially like Doyle's dream. :)

The C is implicit, as you say, we know it's coming... *g* Very pleased you like this, thank you!
