I had originally planned on joining him, but since I'm trying to pay off my student loan by May, and since I'm also loading up my savings account in anticipation of us moving in June, I decided not to go. You're paying off your student loans already? Dang. I still owe more than I actually borrowed, I think. Depressing.

I didn't have too many. There's a lottery-funded scholarship here in GA that pays full tuition if you meet a few requirements (3.0+ GPA, GA resident, going to an in-state school), so my only loans were for room and board for the years before I realized that I could, in fact, handle a job and school at the same time. Back in the day, I griped aboout staing in state for school and going to the same place as half of my high school class, but now that I'm almost rid of these loans, I'm really glad that I took advantage of the in-state scholarship.

I know how you feel. Lately I have been itching for a new "adventure." I have become so antisocial at work that people keep commenting on how quiet I have become and how they never see me anymore. I hope that your plans to move somewhere more culture shocking work out.

I went to beard papa's the last time i was in nyc...they have great frozen drinks too. also, kinokuniya...they don't just sell pretty paper, but japanese books and magazines and movies and cds and all that fun stuff. There is one in seattle, too, inside a big japanese market.

Beard Papa's - AMAZING. There is also this great bento place that was by my old office Cafe Zaiya, that had the best rice balls and bentos and they had a Beard Papa's!

Move to NYC!

Those cream puffs look really, really good. I was hoping they might have a location in Seattle, which I will probably be visiting this summer (more on that another time), but alas, they do not. And all of their California locations are in the LA/SF metro areas, not San Diego (where I will also be going this summer...). Ah well.

On another food-related note, I had sushi tonight. I was hungry on my way home from FedEx, and since I hadn't had sushi in about a month, I decided tonight was the night for it. A veggie combo roll, an oshinko roll, and 2 pieces of nigiri-style tofu. Mmm.
