So I had the weekend from work and invited my friends over a month in advance (with reminders as the weekend drew closer) for cookie baking

If they want to eat cookies then they should have come help you bake them. If they didn't do that then they should show their appreciation by maybe paying for the cookies or giving you something in exchange.

This Friday I'll be baking with my 3 year old nephew and my 7 year old niece. That is going to be messy but awesome.

Ooh, that'll be fun times. I kinda wish I had a bitty one to messy bake with. The youngest person in my family is 25 so that's out.

You're right. I'm gonna bring up the idea of a "cookie exchange" and see how that goes.
