No, this latest Magnetic Fields album is a conscious effort to go in the other direction from Distortion, so it's all based around acoustic instruments and folksy arrangements. To me, it sounds pretty much like i redux; it's the sound of Merritt's original factory settings. Minus synths.

I haven't heard any of those albums you listed, but was curious about that Jonsi one, and I'll have to look into Bullet for My Valentine too.

Ted Leo's appeal eludes me as well.

I heard one of the songs from that Linkin Park album on the radio while visiting my parents, and I was very surprised at how tolerable it was.

Well, the plan is to include a copy of this in the pack of CDs I will theoretically be sending you before the final trump. So you will be able to argue against all of them!

Their live show is loads of fun. Should they ever drop by your way, I'd say they're well worth seeing.

Glad you enjoyed! I figured The Suzan and Glasser would be up your alley!

If they actually put out a new album in 2010 - it's on my list.

I've heard their name but have never bothered to investigate them. Perhaps I shall! Thanks!
