The resulting scream could probably be heard on the other side of the lake it was so loud.

He was sitting facing the window to the street, chewing on the back of his pen as he worked on an old puzzle he'd never finished. He was glad he'd managed to keep his bag with him in the transfer to Discedo. Since the last thing he remembered doing was being on a train with the Professor, he'd had a few puzzle books in his bag. And they were keeping him sufficiently entertained.
At least for now.

He could feel something peering over his shoulder. At first, he ignored it, because he was almost done. But when the presence didn't go away--and also didn't make a noise (or produce it's head to get pet, like Claire would)--he turned around.
If the entire town didn't hear the startled yelp he let out, most of his house probably did.
"U-uh...h-hello Mr. G-Ghost...?" Maybe, if he pretended he wasn't terrified, the ghost would think he was boring. And go away.

"Beh ... il pavimento è fatto. Ora le finestre," she sighed and moved to one of the windows, dusting the glass with an old rag. This certainly was not the work for a noble woman to be doing but Maria did not complain. Working kept unwanted thoughts from invading her mind...
((Translation: Well... the floor is done. Now the windows.))

As she rose up, her hand was placed against one side of the window and it took her a second for her eyes to move towards the middle of the window panel. There, right in front of her face, was a strange sight. Brow furrowed, Maria had a ten second delayed reaction before her mind registered the frightening, transparent visage.
"Dios mio!" she cried, taking a step back in fright and, to her misfortune, the bucket collided against the back of her feet. The action causes Maria to fall down the floor and she cries out as the pain strikes up her back.

"I cant just stand here all day! A hero would never be scared of exploring their new surroundings. I will learn this city and do my best," he raised a fist up, determined to be a good example, and set a foot forward ready to, at least try, conquer his fear.
