It had been two days since Minato had looked down Knuckles throat with a flashlight talking about swollen tonsils and resting. Well Knuckles had felt like he'd walked all the way from Scourge Bay to the Metropolis Zone, twice, so resting was fine by him.
Except sleeping with a fever wasn't always restful, a fact that Knuckles was being reminded of now as he woke up in a cold sweat looking around the room...Minato's apartment? But...
No that was right, he was meant to be at Minato's Apartment, safe, not trapped in the Discedo Woods with wolves waiting for him to lose the strength to fight them off...
And after that little panic was over Knuckles flopped back down in his little nest of blankets on the couch. He wasn't sure what time it was, and even though he'd only just woken up he still felt exhausted. It wasn't long before he was back asleep, but this sleep didn't look anymore restful than the last one.
