The cook had been out most of the day, slowly combing his way through the shopping district. He'd been doing this for a while now, going out to look for supplies whenever he could, salvaging what he could find. It looked... bad. Of course he wasn't sure just yet but from the looks of it the city wouldn't be able to feed all of its inhabitants for that much longer ( ... )

There was a nervous feeling cropping up in the pit of Zoro's stomach. It was a dull terror. They were going to be direct about what had happened. He and Sanji had decided on that much earlier. But now was the moment. Now was when they were going to find out how bad of an idea it really was.

He'd gotten to the still-unnamed ship first. He was sitting at the end of the dock cross-legged, his back to the ship. Meditation. Finding a state of calm amidst Discedo's madness. Mostly, trying to suppress the feeling of hunger that washed over him. He could see how bare supplies were getting; He'd already cut himself down to one meal a day. There were other people who needed the food more than he did.

Being hungry was a sacrifice he had to make. Really, he could deal with it - begrudgingly. He just wished the meditation was working. But it wasn't, so he opened his eyes and stretched out a little, letting out a small shiver as he waited for the other two to arrive.

Despite the cold, despite the trouble with supplies, even despite her leg Umi couldn't help a smile as she saw Sanji. That was one thing that Hikaru's presence did -- the redhead had a way of making bad things seem less bad. Impossible things seem less impossible. It was a terrible time for her to be there, with things going the way they were, but Umi was grateful for it, too ( ... )

He closed the distance between them in a few long strides, partly so she wouldn't have to move around on that leg anymore than she already had. The cook offered her a warm smile and moved to wrap an arm around her shoulders, attempting to rub a bit of warmth into her.

"Weird, huh..? Maybe."

Stiff. Awkward. Definitely more uncomfortable with the situation than he liked to admit. It wasn't often that Sanji found himself unsure of what to do but this was one of those rare times. Hopefully the damn mosshead would join them soon enough so he at least had someone else around who could fail at dealing with this. Moral support and all that.

Speaking of... that damn swordsman was bound to be here somewhere.

"Oi! Shitty marimo! Get over here!"
