the log:
DontCallMeGol: Ace had just been kicked out a window and barely managed to roll at the last moment to save his legs from breaking. But there he was, free to run about the city and create chaos. Which he fully intended to do. Part of him was trying it's damnedest to take the reigns and pull his mind back into a more normal state. But it was failing miserably. Dark eyes scanned the city before taking off in a random direction to hunt out some trouble. That fight with Baiken had got his adrenaline pumping, why waste it? He was feeling alive and ached for some blood.
Forged_Anew: Zuko was wandering around near the warehouses, having bandaged himself up roughly from Abel's attack. So much for his new clothes, he thought with an angry grimace, twirling his blades absently in his hands. He turned at the sound of footsteps, stepping out the alley he'd been lurking in, scowling and in a foul mood.
DontCallMeGol: Foul mood, meet mischievious, blood-thirsty pirate. Ace paused a moment at the sight of the other before a smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. Zuko...and he was armed. Perfect. There were no words, there was no time, he'd bolted forward before he could so much as think it was crazy. His hand swiftly drew his knife, prepared to lash out at the teen or perhaps parry a blade before he could be bitten.
In his mind he was still there, tiny, insignifcantly trying to turn himself away, but he couldn't. Soon the voice of reason would be silenced entirely and only the monster within would be let loose to it's own devices. The look on the pirates face was ecstatic, delighted, and wicked in all senses of the word.
Forged_Anew: Zuko looked up just in time to see the pirate rushing toward him and he quickly turned to face him, swords at the ready and knees bent in a protective crouch. He recognized Ace, but it didn't matter. The man was attacking anyway; he was completely justified. And that nagging in the back of his mind could just shut up now.
With a dark and malicious smirk, Zuko met Ace's blade with one of his own, the ring of steel on steel reverberating though the street.
DontCallMeGol: It was beautiful how the metal sung, it screetched as his knife was pushed forward and dragged along Zuko's blade with his movement. In turn he brought a knee around to drive it forward toward Zuko's chest, keeping a close eye on that other blade of his.
Forged_Anew: Zuko jumped back a small bit with a soft growl, bringing his other sword down toward Ace as he did so.
DontCallMeGol: His grin widened as he brought his foot back down, widening his stance and thrusting his hand up to clasp around the blade. He'd caught swords barehanded before, this was nothing. Of course, the boy managed to open a small cut on the junction between his pointer and thumb and a little spot just over his palm. He held it firmly in place and thrust out to stab the boy with his knife.
Forged_Anew: Zuko's eyes widened momentarily in surprise, not having expected that. But he quickly registered the knife come toward him and twisted out of the way, though the blade nicked his shoulder. Trying to jerk his captured sword of Ace's hands, he used the opportunity at the same time to bring his second blade in forcefully from the other side, aiming at Ace's side.
DontCallMeGol : He let the blade go easily enough and took a quick couple of steps back out of range of that second one before he could be cut too badly. He tisked Zuko, tilting a pointer finger back and forth in a mockery. He shifted weight onto one foot and whipped another kick at his open side.
Forged_Anew: Zuko grunted in surprise and pain, not fast enough to block the kick, but he didn't let it slow him down despite the fact his breath caught for a moment. Ignoring the pain and leaping away, he ran suddenly toward the wall of a nearby building, jumping against it and using the force to propel himself off the wall toward Ace, swords aimed directly at his opponent, danger and a sadistic sort of enjoyment gleaming in those golden eyes.
DontCallMeGol: He whirled around quickly, eyes darting after the scarred prince to watch him rebound off a wall. Clever, fast... deadly, but not enough. He bent backwards under the boy's trajectory, a sword barely missing his face as his hat fell off his head. He brought his hands up and firmly grasped at the boy's clothes and body. He then threw the other off of him and toward the ground.
Forged_Anew: The Firebender growled, a harsh and livid sound torn from his throat as he was grabbed and propelled over his target. He struggled to right himself in midair, not quite succeeding. Instead, Zuko landed hard on his side, skidding across the floor for a moment before he dug one blade into the dirt, stopping himself in a defensive crouch and glaring with murderous intent. This time, he would wait for Ace to come to him. He jerked his sword out of the ground and beckoned the pirate with a sneer.
DontCallMeGol: He rolled his shoulders slightly and smirked at the other. Oh? So he was through blindly throwing himself at him huh? Good. He'd take his turn now. He didn't bother with fancy footwork, he just rushed forward at him, keeping an eye on those swords, preparing...
Forged_Anew: Zuko raised his weapons in a defensive X before him, rooting himself to the ground with a strong stance and getting ready to take Ace's attack head-on.
DontCallMeGol: He tilted his head slightly, looking over the boy's stance, the way his swords crossed. His expression was almost serious there for a moment before it cracked into a grin. He laughed, laughed at how the boy seemed annoyed with him, laughed at the situation. Then, without much of a hitch, he lunged. Mid run he threw his dagger at the boy, he'd have to bat it out of the way or risk taking it to the head. Using this distraction he dropped low and swept a leg out to try and knock Zuko off his feet.
Forged_Anew: The Firebender easily knocked the dagger off course with one of his swords, not paying it much attention as he kept his eyes on Ace. A move from below, was it? He shifted his stance quickly, barely getting out of the way in time, and swung one of his blades in an arc straight down at the oppenent lunging for his legs.
DontCallMeGol: He felt the blade bite into his thigh, one hand had come out to catch the brunt of most of the blow so it didn't cut too deep. He didn't want to be bleeding out on the first day after all. He clamped his fingers down tightly over the wide blade and gave it a yank to try and pull the other off balance or at least tug the blade free.
Forged_Anew: Zuko's grip was tight--he wasn't losing the only damn form of self defense he had around here without his Firebending--but as a result, the tug caused him to stumble a little. He snarled as he felt his stance falter, already readying to bring his other blade down on Ace's head.
DontCallMeGol: His free hand came up to hold his hat in place as he rolled just enough to bring his head out of the way. The sword came down just over his shoulder, biting into the fabric of his jacket some and opening a small cut on him. He wrapped a hand around the hand guard firmly to keep it in place as he brought a knee in toward his chest and pushed his foot out to plant it firmly in Zuko's gut, pushing him back.
Forged_Anew: Zuko choked, coughing violently as his vision swam from the force of the blow. His previous injuries weren't helping either, the cuts Abel had given him throbbing viciously. But his didn't let go of his weapons, shoved back only as far as the length of his arms firmly gripping his swords would allow. With an enraged grimace, he spat a bit of blood at Ace's face, letting out a feral growl and trying to jerk out of his grip.
DontCallMeGol: The boy was strong, he'd give him that. He turned his head, closing an eye to avoid having the blood spat into it. But he only chuckled at his anger before letting the blades go. In the mean time, as they were pulled from the ground, he'd roll out of the way. Perhaps now was a good time to call it quits. He'd had fun, let the boy get a few cuts on him, got a few blows in himself. But there wasn't enough time, there were more people to fight! So he waved, smiling at the boy before breaking off into a run.
Forged_Anew: Suddenly released but still pulling back, Zuko stumbled for a moment before quickly securing his stance again and turning to face Ace as he rolled and stood up--and then ran. His eyes narrowed slightly in surprise and suspicion, snarling at the baiting smile and wave taking a few steps forward as he waited a few moments for the other man to turn around. When he didn't, Zuko gave an enraged wordless shout and dashed after him. "Are you actually running? COWARD!"
DontCallMeGol: "HAhahaaha, I'm BORED! TIME TO FIND A NEW PLAYMATE~" He sing-songed as he continued to run, changing his path quickly and ducking through an alleyway.
Forged_Anew: Zuko continued to give chase for a few more minutes before losing sight of him and finally slowing, glaring down the empty alley angrily. He bared his teeth in a snarl, fists clenched white-knuckled around his blade hilts, but after a few more seconds of glowering, he decided it wasn't worth his time. If the coward had chickened out, it still counted as his win. He'd have to be satisfied with that. Sheathing his swords with a quick and agitated motion, Zuko turned away in search of a better challenge.
