WEATHER UPDATE
...Of a sort. The snow has now ended, although it's still cloudy and cold. The weather will be warming up just enough for the snow to melt, but won't be getting above about 40°F/around 5°C. Otherwise, the city seems to have gone a little quiet, something that many have noticed already.
We will have some strange events occurring for the week, starting on Tuesday. Information is under the cut, and it will affect the whole city, so please take a look. Ask questions if you need. ♥
TUESDAY, 9/8
These things will continue for the duration of the event starting on Tuesday:
The fog rolls in during the early morning hours, before the sun comes up. Thick, damp pea-soup fog that blankets the city, the kind that's difficult to see through. And the silence continues, as if unbreakable; even the sound of footsteps sounds intrusive. Wrong. Unwelcome.
Even the monsters seem quieter than usual; in fact, you might notice that they're extremely hard to find or come across.
In the fog, one might occasionally hear strange noises and sounds, almost like monsters lurking just out of sight. Whatever's lurking at the edges of that fog will remain unseen. And maybe it's just the fog playing tricks, but the city also looks a little darker than usual; a little dingier and dirtier.
WEDNESDAY, 9/9
These things will continue for the duration of the event starting on Wednesday:
The fog is thicker now, and even more impossible to see through. By now, if you hear footsteps, it would be hard to tell whether it's a monster or a friend. This could leave people prone to accidents, if you're not careful.
Every so often, when you're alone, you might get the feeling that you're being watched, or followed. Strange shadows might appear to move from the corner of your eye, but when you look, there's nothing there.
Every so often, static might fade in and out of voice and video posts over the communicators. Occasionally, VERY occasionally, a transmission over the network will, only for your device, be interrupted by strange videos of moving shadows. It's hard, if not impossible, to tell what those shadows are doing. The communicators will also occasionally mistakenly give people shocks, even if they have been used in the past two weeks.
THURSDAY, 9/10
These things will continue for the duration of the event starting on Thursday:
Today the fog seems to start doing strange things to your perception of direction...or maybe it really is spiriting people away. If you start out going one way, you might find yourself in the entirely wrong place, in the wrong direction, completely and utterly lost. You might end up in a bad place to be on your own, as well; remember that the monsters are quiet, but not completely gone.
FRIDAY, 9/11
These things will continue for the duration of the event starting on Friday:
Animal and monster carcasses appear occasionally in the streets and in various outdoor areas, like the parks. They are NOT PRETTY. These creatures have been brutally tortured, killed and dismembered; you might find the parts scattered over some distance. One or two of them might even be left on doorstops or strung up in doorways.
EDIT: These carcasses will NOT BE extremely plentiful, guys, you won't be tripping over them every two feet. They will also only be found outdoors.
Today, you might start seeing some wiring failure due to what looks like chewing on wires. The thing responsible for this is impossible to track down, but it might be the same thing that has started leaving scratches on wood, claw marks in stone, attempting to dig things up and breaking windows when no one is around. This damage will be small and fixable, but whatever causes it is impossible to find.
MONDAY 9/14
The weekend brings no additional changes to the city (although the strange things that started on Tuesday and every day after continue through to Monday, of course), but Monday seems to be a fresh start to the strange events. The running water in the buildings turns as dingy as the buildings themselves: a light brownish color.
If you go to the lake, you might notice that occasional animal parts (some of the monsters in the lake, fish fins, etc) have started to wash up on shore. There might occasionally be something that looks human, too, but bloated and rotten, like it's been in the water for a long time.
More information will be posted soon about what occurs after Monday.
