SYTYCD Question

Am I the only person watching SYTYCD who dislikes the choreography of Tyce D'Orio (forever known as Toasty Oreo in my brain)? I can't think of a routine of his that I've liked and can remember more than one time when his choreography has resulted in a flat performance.

Anyone? Bueller?

Absolutely not. I have never liked his choreography AT ALL. I am deeply unhappy whenever someone I like pulls his routines. :\

I'm glad it's not just me! I don't understand why everyone keeps praising his choreography. The boat bothered me last night (though Will and Katee were good) and what the hell was with that stupid jazz number? Poor Mark.

Matt Murphy (a former dancer with ABT) referred to his routines in his blog Ranting Details as follows:

There can be something very “jazz class” about Diorio’s routines.

Doesn't sound like a compliment to me.

I just hate his stuff and it makes watching so difficult.

I don't hate his choreo, but it rarely excites me. If we are going to get something jazz, where is Wade Robson? Why is he missing this season?

My problem is that Tyce is being overused this season. There are so many fabulous choreographers, why is he working with the dancers every week? Give me Shane Sparks, Mia Michaels, Mandy Moore, Wade Robson, Tony Meredith, that new Sonia chick, Jean Marc, and so many more. Let's have more Bollywood!

Maybe he's a master at what he does but it doesn't seem to translate over to the SYTYCD stage for me. I end up blaming him for a large portion of whatever bad reviews the dancers get from the judges.

I enjoy the work of all the other choreographers, and have been excited about all the new people they've got working with them this year. Time to phase out Toasty Oreo!

You know I can't CAN'T watch any more dance shows it bad enough that I watch DWTS and STIUAD and American Ballroom Challenge .

LOL! Well, SYTYCD is the only dance show I watch so I guess I've avoided dance show overload.
