this is not a requiem for her but her escape

Hello internets. I am only very slightly tispy, but also I was drinking that raspberry beer, and I get all cranky ... not cranky, really, but something or another, when I drink it. So, anyway, I'm going to talk about Panic at the Disco lyrics instead of about my thoughts on things, and that will be much better ( Read more... )

OH MY GOD I ALSO THOUGHT OF VAMPIRES ATTACKING RYAN WHEN I SAW THAT PICTURE! ♥

Um. I've packed 11 boxes of books and had a bottle of wine. Tonight has been fab so far.

Ryan totally looks like he should be on the cover of a romance novel. ...Okay, so I don't actually read romance novels, but if more were about vampires, I totally would! OM NOM NOM DELCIOUS RYAN!NECK.

yaaay! 11 boxes is a lot of unpack! With a whole bottle of wine, I would be pretty under the table, though. Good job for being able to hold your alcohol! :D

There are SO MANY VAMPIRE ROMANCE NOVELS, dude. I don't read them, but I do read historicals. It's the new wave!

I wish I had less books, but then I think... Oh no, I need MORE books! And I still haven't packed uh, anything else yet. Whoops.

One bottle of wine between two very small people in about four hours. Not really that impressive.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THERE ARE VAMPIRE ROMANCE NOVELS? LIKE, WHERE PEOPLE HAVE SEXYTIMEZ WITH VAMPIRES?!?!? AND I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT ON THIS FOR ALL THESE YEARS? My life: So tragic.

Books are easier to pack than, like... things that aren't books. :-/ Like nicknacks! Those are hard to pack! Books are heavy though. Good luck carrying the boxes afterward if all you have is too very small people.

in my head I call this album the summer of like which is yes, a sad play on Pete's term, but also because it's summer of love / beatles influences, the weather and seasons things that popped up and because even though it is (esp compared to fever) a cheerful and fairly upbeat sort of thing, there are enough solemn moments that i think that mostly they are not entirely wedded to the idea things are ok, or good, and things could, in fact, turn bad or cold or fail on a tick ( ... )

Yeah, there is definitely so much about the weather and the seasons, and I feel like they're trying to tell us something... I just haven't figured out what it is yet.

I read all of the Narnia books when I was a kid, but I don't remember them very well. Someone who has trouble cavorting playfully (though he tries) sounds so much like Ryan. From what you've said, that sounds like a really great comparison.

I know it's sad that I never gave a damn about the weather, and it never gave a damn about me.

I actually think this is about Ryan's dad, but that may be because I identify entirely too much with Adrienne Rich's poem Storm Warnings? (and had an alcoholic father of my own that I'm sometimes bitter about)

My dog is barking so that I'll feed him bits of carrot. How would Panic manage to work THAT into a song? Because I'm sure they could, and I'm just as sure that it would make NO SENSE.

Nummy pictures.

Oooh, about Ryan Dad. Huh! That's so interesting. I love Adrienne Rich, but I don't remember Storm Warnings off the top of my head. I'm totally going to go look that up right now. And also to listen to the song again, thinking of Ryan's Dad.

Hahahah, I'm pretty sure they would, too. But, they wouldn't TELL us that that's what they're going, so we'd drive ourselves crazy trying to figure out what they actually meant!

Storm Warnings. Sometimes, I marvel that I used Memories for so long, but it does come in handy *g*

The weather and nature themes in Pretty. Odd. are like they were writing JUST FOR ME, because I'm ridiculously into that sort of thing.

Thanks for the link! Wow, I wonder if Ryan Ross has read that poem!?!

I actually really love Memories. So easy!

It's awesome that you're able to connect with the lyrics. :D

I think that maybe they don't know a whole lot about actual rain, and this is why their metaphors don't make sense, perhaps.

ajfdklahahahahaha that made me laugh for a really long time. I love how their lyrics actually really just don't make any sense.

*g* Yeah, I don't even know. I really thought I had something with the concept album there, but apparently not.
