Liz ... I feel fucking broken right now. I don't even know what to say. This is simply, utterly fantastic. It's better than fantastic. It's the show, man. It is so everything that is so amazing about the show. It's honest and heart-wrenching, it's surprising but inevitable, it's better than anything I could possibly think up or imagine for these two. GAH.

They're cute and funny and awkward and sexy: She looks like she’s thinking real hard about something. “So I’m just here as manual labor?”

Don’t panic. “I said you could just sit in here.”

Her response is a laugh and a reassuring “Relax,” as she pops the rest of the candy bar in her mouth and shoves the creaky door open. He can’t help but stare a little. “Well don’t just sit there.”

They're almost too straight with each other (HOTTT), with bonus DEVIL TOWN: He hisses when she puts her fingers on the welt and presses lightly, asking him if it hurts. It does, so he tells her that, and she just winks and tells him to stop being a baby. Says, “Don’t you get worse than that

After I posted this I was worried you might not like it, and then I saw this and I seriously burst into this huge smile the minute I saw just the LENGTH of this comment for chrissakes. And then I read it and preened like a motherfucker and, I know people get awards for best fics, but we need an award for best commenter to go to you

What a lovely, tender, well-observed story - I really like the voice you've given Luke, it sounded perfect. And the ending was adorable - hell, these two deserve a bit of fluff after all the angst.

You have just reminded me how much I miss this show, and how much I like Luke, East Dillon's Saracen rather than Tim Riggins, imho.

As much as I like angst (and there was SOME), I gotta say, these two kids needed a happy ending. So I gave them one!

I know, I miss it so much, but we still have one more season, and that's awesome! Luke is definitely my favorite of the new cast, but I also loved #7 and they definitely have similarities, hehe.

I need a Becky/Luke icon so I can properly comment on this and I need it NOW.

I just finished watching all of season 4 yesterday and I have so many FEELINGS about this show, and especially Becky and Luke, and everything (who am I kidding, it's for ALL OF THEM).

So many things about this fic are just completely perfect. Luke's best friend as a child was a cow. He's awkward and doesn't know what to say, doesn't know what to do. Becky and Luke being together (and it seems like it was the very same place as it was for Matt and Julie and Eric and Tami) was absolutely hot and so bittersweet knowing what came from it, and...I have no words.

Ah season 4. I gave it a rough time 'cause I missed all the other characters, but the new ones really started to grow on me, Luke being my favorite but honestly, I like all of them. It was a good move by the show.

I'm so glad you liked the fic, I really tried so hard to make it both realistic and sticking to canon. And haha, I totally didn't think about that lake! I just made something up, based it off somewhere in my hometown. But hey, maybe it was there! Seems like a popular place.

Do I mind? Why would I mind! Yay! I don't really have any other FNL fics yet though (I'll fix that, I promise). I did write another one but it's not on my LJ, it was in a drabble meme on another LJ and I've been lazy to link to them. But yes, please, peruse away.

It was killing me to wait to read yours, but I wanted to finish my little Becky/Luke one first. Now I'm sitting here in complete awe of the brilliant, honest, bittersweet picture you've painted here. You've portrayed both of them impeccably, as well as the sweet, innocent sort of connection they have with each other that gets so disturbed by everything that happens. There are so many perfect lines in here, I can't even begin to pick any out.

Bravo! Beautiful job. Maybe you could be encouraged to write more Becky/Luke? :D?

I know, I would love it too. I think it would be really sweet to witness them kind of accepting that they're doing it all backwards, but that that's okay.
