Wrote these for the 15-minute challenge @ kpfw 9.0. I wrote one other fic for the challenge, but I'll be posting it in a separate entry because it's longer than the others. Hope you enjoy these :D
If pigs could fly
Jonghyun/Key; 215 words; PG. Jonghyun thinks he's grown a few centimeters. Key thinks it's impossible.
People think I've stopped lying, but I've just gotten better at it.
* "I think I've grown taller," Jonghyun says, looking at himself in the mirror. "I look better, too."
"No, you haven't. And can we stop talking about you today?" Kibum says from behind the pile of clothes on Jinki's bed; they shopped for new clothes today and he's sorting them by color. "Because I've been hearing Jonghyun-talk all week. Next thing we know, you'll be saying 'I think my best friend's in love with me because I look so good'. Which would happen on the next apocalypse, by the way." Kibum reaches for the stack of red shirts and stores them in one of their drawers. Jonghyun looks over his shoulder.
"Shut up. I'll never fall for my best friend. He's got the cooties." Jonghyun imitates the tone young girls use when they diss on guys, but he fails miserably - his voice is a bit too scratchy for that. Kibum beams at him, saying loudly, "Thank God!" Jonghyun just shakes his head and gets out of the yellow shirt Kibum picked out for him when they shopped 30 minutes ago, throws it at Kibum. Kibum catches it with his face. While Kibum grumbles about conceited best friends and narcissism, Jonghyun looks at himself in he mirror again.
He's not that bad an actor. No, not at all.
Duets
Luna/Krystal; 215 words; PG. There are some notes that Luna cannot reach.
Don't waste your wishes / you can have me, all of me/ whenever you need.
Luna is the voice of f(x), everybody knows that already, but she would like to think that Krystal is the icing on the cake. Sure, she can belt out high notes, but no one does it better than Krystal - Krystal who can also do second voice in a low tone, Krystal who always gets the right tune of the song even if it's just her first time listening to it. Krystal who, by some sort of twisted fate, has been blessed with the gift of whatever Luna doesn't have - the wide vocal range, the popular sister, the ginormous amount of fans (both male and female) and, of course, the height.
Luna envies Krystal sometimes, so she channels the not-so-untoward feelings into practicing. She stays up late, making sure she's got things just right before she sleeps. Then she gets a good night's rest, and sometimes she thinks she's hearing things, or that might just be Krystal saying, "Someday, I'll be just as good as you." sometimes, even, "Someday, we'll sing a song together and-" Then Luna opens her eyes, and she finds Krystal sleeping peacefully on her bed.
So when Krystal walks up to her the following day and says, "I can't seem to get this part right. Can you... help me?", Luna indulges.
The best of the best
Yunho/Jaejoong; 204 words; PG. Jaejoong assumes the role of the best friend.
I long for something I can't understand and sometimes I feel like it will never come and then I get scared that this is all there is.
* "I'm getting married," Yunho says rather flatly, then continues, "next week."
"I hope you're not marrying the girl you met three months back," Jaejoong replies, obviously busy with whatever he's looking for in his pile of strange, metal things. He takes out a long copper wire, bends it to see if it's still fine. "Because she's not smart and she has no sense of style." Jaejoong then starts forming something with the wire, but hides it from Yunho when Yunho walks to him to see what he's doing.
"No, I'm marrying Ida. Childhood crush, remember?"
"Um, no. I didn't even know you had friends other than me when we were young."
"Oh, will you stop that?" Yunho hits Jaejoong lightly on the arm and Jaejoong just shakes his head. Jaejoong waits for the part where Yunho asks him to be the best man, his best man (best man, best friend; that's what he has always been), but it never comes, and Yunho leaves before Jaejoong could even say, "Can I be your best man?"
When Jaejoong sees Yunho walking away from his bedside window, he takes out a copper ring that's rather shabbily done, with the word "Forever" at the center of the ring.
Shoulders for comfort
Yehsung/Eeteuk; 186 words; PG. When all else fails, seek Jongwoon for help.
Reach inside of me / squeeze the scream out of my heart. / Breathe silence back in.
The first words that come out of Jungsu's mouth when he hears about Youngwoon's case are, "Oh come on, he's too much of a kid to drive a car." But then Jongwoon tells him, "It's true. Donghae said so. Youngwoon's on his way home.", and he can only reply with, "Well fuck this life."
He doesn't talk to Youngwoon when the latter comes home.
He locks himself up in the room he shares with Heechul, and he's partly grateful that Heechul doesn't ask why he's going into solitary confinement ("Again," he hears Heechul saying). He only ever opens the door to Jongwoon who brings him two bottles of beer and one whole bar of Toblerone.
"Leader issues?"
"Yeah, leader issues."
They never speak, but then Jungsu finds it appropriate to lean on Jongwoon's shoulder, and Jongwoon's arm wraps around his shoulder. "I'm giving Youngwoon a Sucker Punch. You know, the thing Buneary does," Jungsu mumbles in between soft sobs, and Jongwoon laughs lightly and squeezes Jungsu's arm. "Then I'll do Helping Hand so we can Sucker Punch him together."
Jungsu finds himself laughing the tears away.
Five minutes
Onew/Key; 277 words; PG-13. Behind the camera, there is something more to Jinki. So much more.
The boy's no good. The boy is just no good.
Jinki is a decent bad boy.
Decent, because he doesn't act like a rebel in front of the camera or even not in front of it. He's a good boy, your typical model student and model son who makes everyone proud with all his achievements. But at the end of the day and dead of the night, when Taemin and Minho are asleep and Jonghyun's in the computer room, still doing stuff, Jinki walks up to Kibum and says, "Let's do this quick."
It's 1 a.m. Jinki pins Kibum on the wall and starts kissing him, and Kibum doesn't really give in &dmash; he fights back. He fights back by running his fingers through Jinki's hair, pulling Jinki closer, kissing him with more force, teeth against teeth and tongue against tongue. "Pretty boy," Jinki calls Kibum when they break the kiss, and he runs his fingers down Kibum's spine, "you're mine." Kibum hates being called pretty, ever more so by Jinki, but the way it rolls off his lips is almost beautiful, if not perfect in every single way. But then his voice is unsympathetic, even when saying Kibum's name again and again (in between mentions of 'pretty boy'), against Kibum's skin, and he licks the back of Kibum's ear just before leaning in for another kiss. And they both pull apart.
It's 1:05 a.m. Jinki turns around and walks to the computer room, opens the door and tells Jonghyun to go to bed. Kibum's still leaning against the wall, head thrown back, and when Jinki says, "Go to bed, Kibum," he nods and says, "Yeah. Five more minutes," expecting Jinki to stay.
But Jinki never does.
To kids from 1 to 92
Jay/Heechul; 286 words; PG-13. Heechul dreams of his "true love's kiss", and it comes to him in the form of a friend.
I'm 25, and I've never been kissed. It's not that I don't want to... It's just that no one else does.
* Heechul imagines his first kiss to be something like this - shy at first, then soon turning out to be agressive, hungry, with sloppy tongue action. He imagines himself tilting his head to the right, his hands cupping the face of the girl he's kissing. The kiss would probably last for a full minute, maybe a little more. This is his sketch of his first kiss when he is 17.
When he reaches 25, though, and still hasn't had that kind of kiss, he starts giving up on that idea.
Not that he hasn't had any kisses before, though. None of them are just as mind-blowing as the one he has always imagined. His girl crush when he was 20 bit his tongue too hard, and that girl who he met in the bar one day bit his lip just a bit too much. "Dude, you're such a perfectionist. You'll never get that kiss," Jay tells him, one hand gripping a bottle of beer and the other hand on Heechul's shoulder. "Worse, you'll never get laid."
"I resent that."
"I know, which is exactly why I said that."
Heechul gets the sudden kick (quite literally) to prove Jay wrong, so he grabs Jay by the collar of his shirt and crushes his lips onto Jay's. Somehow, their lips fit like this, and Heechul almost laughs when he feels that tingling sensation when their tongues collide. Just before Heechul pulls away, Jay bites on his lower lip, and Heechul feels the sharp pain on his lips. They slump right back into their positions, and Jay drinks his beer all the way down. Heechul hides the smile on his lips behind the bottle of beer.
Note quite perfect, but it will do.
