Night Life
There are arched figures dancing with the moonlight, the faint glimmer of the moon illuminating the already glittering bodies glistening with sweat. The movement is rhythmic as time goes on, and neither wants to stop as if there is a competition to be won.
They only want to know the answer to something they’ve been long questioning.
Data cannot provide everything, Yanagi muses as he delves further deeper into oblivion, fingers tracing the fine skin connecting Yukimura’s cheek and neck. Words are muttered, incoherent words, and despite the fact that nothing is heard other than their names, Yanagi understands and smiles and lets out a profession of undying love. Then all is settled, yet he still wonders why. Just why.
Sanada, Yukimura’s brain reminds him as he curls up with Yanagi after a battle of will against will, body against body and belief against belief. Sanada has always been a factor in making decisions, in resolving things, and more importantly in existing. But he is impatient, and waiting is just not his thing. He hates himself for being so, and ultimately because he has turned to Yanagi for an immediate answer.
He has always thought that data can answer any question. It turns out that he was proven wrong.
Renji, Yukimura mutters with a tone of uncertainty, can I call you Renji, he continues. There is much hesitation in his voice. Yanagi simply nods, and hides the smile that resurfaces on his lips. He remembers that it is not in Sanada’s nature to smile, and he has to be just like that.
Renji, that sounds good. That’s all that Yukimura says as he intertwines his fingers with Yanagi’s own. The other stiffens, and parts his lips to ask. Why, why say that, why react that way, why him. But he shuns all those thoughts. For today, at least, only for today, he can cease asking questions.
After all, why… why not?
