Author's Notes: Wow. This has to be one of my favorite chapters. xD No, really. This is pretty much an action-filled chapter. And another pair would be revealed. YES. So enjoy. :D

The Second Game
Round Five: And He Says Never

“Was that your lover boy again?”

He pauses before putting his mobile phone down and shoots a glare at his friend. “Yeah, that was lover boy. Jealous, sweetie?” The sound of fast typing fills the air as his friend falls silent. He chuckles a few moments after. “Yeah, you’re jealous. You love me too much.”

He watches his friend with much amusement as the latter gives him a pout. “You’re too engrossed in your work. Oh no, I’m sorry. I meant you’re too engrossed in that YunHo guy.” He notes the bitterness in his friend’s voice and he suppresses the urge to burst out in laughter. “Don’t tell me you’re falling for him, Su. Give me a barf bag just in case.”

He raises an eyebrow at his friend’s statement. “That would be the end of the world, Shim ChangMin. I would never fall for a guy. If it’s not you, at least.”

He turns his attention back to his work - to his monitor, more specifically - and he finds himself thinking how the picture of a certain boxer came to be the wallpaper of his desktop. He then shuns all incoherent thoughts away - there are incoherent thoughts?

He has a deadline to beat.

And he fails to see the glimmer of happiness in ChangMin’s eyes.

---

It is already ten in the evening and he is still playing with his computer chair, swiveling and traveling the entire length of his workstation in the process. The papers that are supposed to be in his hands are somewhere on the floor, scattered yet piled up in a totally messy way, and he doesn’t really pay attention to the wreck that he has caused his room - he has more important things to do.

Indeed, he does. Like calling a certain boxer named Jung YunHo because “he needs more information about the boxer’s upcoming match”.

“Su, just please stop defiling your computer chair, okay?”

He hears his friend’s complaint so clearly but he makes no effort to keep still and stay in one place, preferably in front of his computer. He tries to come up with something coherent, something that goes along the lines of “Should I interview him or not?” He seriously needs his friend’s thought on this matter.

“Okay, that’s it! I’m going out!” And before he could even part his lips to speak, his friend was out of the house.

Now… Should he call YunHo?

---

Come on, Jae. It’s just dinner.
No.
Jae, please. It’s just dinner.
I said no, okay? Now, buzz off.
Baby -
It’s never “just dinner” with you, Park YooChun.
Oh, come on…

Fine, fine. Just this once, Park YooChun.
You got it, baby.

---

It is just a little past ten in the evening and he swears that he has just made the biggest mistake of his life. He would have much preferred to be enduring his friend’s endless ramblings about YunHo and how utterly wonderful the boxer is rather than to be blindly walking around Lord knows where. But no, he has decided to make his way to a bar - whatever the name is, he doesn’t really care - and spend the night at the said place. Or just let time pass and bask in the glory of quality alcohol. Oh yes, he thinks that is good.

He still thinks he should have at least taken some time to wear his glasses, though. He could barely see a thing.

He makes his way to the counter as fast as he could and secures a seat. He orders the first thing that his finger lands on in the menu - there is actually one in a bar? He is very amused. He then waits patiently for the concoction. “What’s this again?” he asks the bartender. “That’s a Screaming Orgasm, sir. Enjoy it while it’s hot.”

A screaming - What?

He lets his eyes wander for the next few minutes - and, by wander, he means convincing himself that his eyes are not actually seeing two men making out inside a cage or two people kissing the living daylights, or nightlights, for that matter, out of each other just after seeing each other for the first time - and finds himself wondering why he is alone at such a place. Or possibly why he is alone and single at such an age. He is handsome, tall, and he has a gorgeous body, if he may say so himself. And he has nobody to cuddle up with or take to a bar on this kind of night?

God must be playing a trick on him. But he soon realizes that it is quite difficult to bring JunSu to a place such as this. Or not.

JunSu? Now, how in the world does JunSu fit in this puzzle?

“Stop it, dammit!”

His eyes suddenly bolt up and he finds himself being snapped back to reality. His eyes lazily search for the source of the voice he has just heard and tries to focus on the scene some few meters from him. Oh, it’s those kinds of scenes again, his mind registers as he sees a man corner a girl and pin her on the wall. He blinks twice and everything becomes a whole lot clearer.

Now, has he just made a mistake in claiming that the other person is a girl?

His feet decide to function and he finds himself walking towards the scene. He can hear muffled protests, and he can definitely see the retaliation on the other person’s part.

“Say my name, baby.”
“I’m not your ‘baby’ anymore! Just - Let go of me!”
“But you’re still my Jae.”

He finds his eyebrow twitching upon recognition of the name he has just heard. Jae? That just has to be JaeJoong. And his eyes affirm his claim as he sees that very distinct hairstyle that only the manager would wear.

Wait. Why did he just remember that guy’s hairstyle?

He finds himself being amused at everything that is taking place. This is payback, he muses as he continues to watch the scene unfold before him. JaeJoong is struggling to free himself from the other’s trap, and he, Shim ChangMin, is enjoying every bit of this entire event. Oh, he can’t wait to tell JunSu what he has just seen -

And before he could fish his phone from his pocket, his feet drag him closer to the scene, too close for his liking, in fact, and his hands act against him - his right hand grabs the wrist of this other person. “Let go of him,” those words manage to slip from his lips and his features mildly contort as he realizes what he is actually doing.

He is helping this Jae guy? NO WAY.

But he is, he muses, and his grip on the other person’s hand tightens. “Let him go,” he says slowly this time, putting more emphasis on his words. He looks at the other person intently and ignores the pile of questions infiltrating his mind. He has things - more important things to do.

“Just who do you think are you?” This other person bites back and tries to release himself from ChangMin’s grip. But the other’s efforts are all in vain as a punch lands on his face and he is sent to the farthest corner of the room. The music stops; the people all turn their attention to the scene. And ChangMin finally meets JaeJoong’s eyes.

“Come, I’ll take you home.” Somehow, he finds the sincerity to say these words without having any hesitations. His hand finds its way around JaeJoong’s shoulder and he shields the other from the scene, then leads him out of the place. Their steps are slow and rhythmic, trying to get used to the feel of having to walk side-by-side each other. A smile manages to make its way to ChangMin’s lips.

I’ll take you home.
Are you su-
Don’t ask. Just give me the directions.

And by some weird twist of fate, he finds himself concluding that this is the right way to spend this night.

Tsuzuku.
