oh my god, i can't even - urgh, there's fics that make it hard to breathe, and it seems kind of not enough to lump this in with them because. no, i'm all incoherent and flaily. i love you, and this, and the way that even if frank isn't mentioned directly in a one section of it you can sense him - or the lack of him - there, and the lost in translation snippet, and the imagery of japan, oh my god, the old & the new blending together. fics like this make me confident just being. thank you. ♥

this is beautiful. i think you successfully portrayed the conflict of wanting to take a break and the loneliness that comes with it in a very gerard-esque manner. gerard's a pretty introverted guy, personal and private, and i like the way that was brought out - we only really saw him and defined him through his actions and his words. we didn't get a deeper insight through the narrator - it was just a what-you-see-is-what-you-get type thing. i really, really enjoyed that. it made me feel almost as though i was only vaguely in gerard's head, hearing the silence and the muttered thoughts there, with the sounds of the world around him filtering through ( ... )

This is incredibly utterly beautiful - so perfectly realised and sparing at the same time as it's beautifully, intricately detailed. I could almost be right there. The mood of this piece is just perfect. ♥
