Teyla loves the feel of silk against her naked skin, even more so after an exquisite session of lovemaking. Miko’s touch is soft and gentle; her feather-light caresses make Teyla gasp and moan in blissful pleasure, her skilful tongue sends sparks of electricity through Teyla’s body as the small woman teases her most sensitive places. She delights in returning the favour, hands exploring Miko’s body, fingers brushing against a spot that makes Miko cry out and clutch at the sheets in ecstasy.
When their release is found and the sweat cools on their skin, Miko leaves Teyla in their luxurious love-nest and pads, naked, across her quarters to make two cups of tea, focusing all of her care and attention of the task, and brings them back to bed with her. The Athosian sits up, legs brushing across the silk sheets as she curls them underneath her, and accepts one steaming hot mug from her lover with a smile and a word of thanks in Miko’s language that her lover has taught her.
At first it is too hot to drink, so she sits with one hand curled around the mug, exchanging smiles and sweet words of endearment with Miko. They talk about their respective homes; Miko describes the country of Japan and its many traditions and fascinating history and Teyla recounts the legends of the Ancestors and the various festivals her people celebrated.
Then they drink the tea in small sips, glancing at each other shyly over the rims of their mugs, Miko’s glasses fogging up from the steam and hiding her warm brown eyes. Miko is the first to finish, and she sets aside her mug and watches Teyla enjoy the tea she has prepared. When the Athosian is done with her tea, she takes Miko’s glasses and sets them down on a table, then she wraps one arm around her lover’s waist and pulls her close for a kiss. They sink into the sheets and Miko nestles into her side, cupping one firm breast in her small hand and resting her head against Teyla’s shoulder, their legs tangled together further down the bed.
This is their ritual.
This is how they fall asleep together: the Athosian running her free hand along the silk, enjoying the texture; the Earth woman smiling happily into her lover’s tanned skin. Occasionally, one of them makes a small, contented noise and after a while the room fills with the soft, snuffling sound of two women gently snoring.
