The fact Olive was leaving at the end of the week had Victor wanting to spend as much time with her as he could. He'd kind of blocked the rest of it, the what would happen after she left, out of his mind.

Or at least he was trying to.

"Hey," he said from the doorway, then -- spotting what she was doing -- added a mildly incredulous, "Man, how much paperwork do you have to do to go to college?"

"I think I'm responsible for the deaths of at least seven trees, so far," Olive said, wincing and beckoning him in. "The whole live-in-the-dorms thing is complicating stuff -- I'm half-tempted to just be a commuter to save myself the writing cramp, but then I have to deal with LA traffic, so...."

Victor came on in, sat down as close to her as he could manage without excessive crowding of her personal space.

"Plus isn't living in the dorms like half the point of freshman year?" Victor asked. "Or did TV lie to me about that? Anyhow, I think you should have, y'know. As normal an experience as you can have."

"It'll be weird to be normal after this," Olive mused. "I mean, it'll probably be kind of boring. I'll almost miss the invasions and stuff."
