okay maybe not the best anime ever but i'm really into it right now. i marathon'd both seasons over the past two days, lol. obviously i should never be allowed to spend too much time alone and on the internet .__.
i actually first heard of it about a month ago at a friend's birthday party, and he'd just gotten the game so we spent a lot of time playing it. AND IT WAS SO FUN. and i guess i just didn't shut up about it when i got home, because my sister xiaoninger ended up buying it for me for christmas \o/!! (speaking of which, i should probably make a late christmas post. and some other posts that elyse has been telling me to make that i forgot about... uhhhhhh)
so at that point i was kinda just interested in the game and cutting people up rather than the characters. but then i got bored and did some googling.
UNF SANADA YUKIMURA. one of the loudest and most overly-enthusiastic characters in the game/anime (gamime?).
and it's a little unfortunate that only something like this could get me interested in the actual series, but it worked :|. and i guess that's okay because he turned out to be one of the most amusing little dudes ever:
they do this in nearly every episode, srsly. i never get tired of it :'(
also pretty amusing is Date Masamune's epic engrish. i think it's supposed to make him look like a badass but every time he does it i just LOL.
he is a badass though, he has like six freaking swords wut. and his horse has like, exhaust pipes or something AND HE RIDES IT WHILE CROSSING HIS ARMS. it's hilarious. i am in love.
and while we're on the topic of horses in sengoku basara.. he rides it the same way in-game. which is pretty cool i guess but YUKIMURA STANDS ON IT. HE STANDS ON A GALLOPING HORSE WHILE SLASHING PEOPLE UP/RUNNING THEM OVER. and everyone else just has different styles of just sitting on a horse and it amuses and amazes me to no end.
oh and of course you can't have a super-ridiculous-testosteroney-action-packed anime without rivalries that have gay undertones. that would be masamune and yukimura, who are so amazed by each other during their first fight that a huge portion of their storylines center around seeing each other again. to duel against their rival or something. but seriously they just have massive homolust and want to gaze lovingly at their lovers' glorious visages again OBVIOUSLY.

i might have to do fanart, if i don't just end up losing interest. i drop out of anime fandoms pretty quickly and there isn't a lot of goodfic out there to keep me interested in the characters.
