V'ger will be dead by 2025, so sad

Voyager 2's onboard energy source(s) will be depleted by 2025.    I can track my adolescence through the discoveries of this and it's sister, Voyager 1.  Thanks for the memories.   These hunks of primitive technology will be drifting in the black long after anything that resembles humanity is long gone.

It's true: the Stek-Trek-The-Motion-Picture-esque machine intelligence lingering in the next star system along V'ger's path will find no life in its ancient circuitry.

Remember, however, the gold-plated messages on the craft provide not only clues to our mathematical system and the location of our sun, but also audio recordings in the same format as none other than a good old-fashioned vinyl record. No tech required to play that back.

Long live analog. :)
