Not content with appalling the ghost of Sappho with my crackpoery, I must now make my apologies to Keats. What happens when you combine Keats' verse with "Unfinished Business"? A ballad about pilots that's become a bit more R rated than the original, that's what. This one is dedicated to my lovely f'list for digging lit geekouts -- I love you

You deserve a little crackpoetry in return. Hmmm...maybe some Blake?
"Kara, Kara, burning bright
in the house-plot on this night
what CAG-at-arms' kiss or eye
could tame thy fearful pilot-ry"

"Thy fearful pilot-ry" *flails* "The Tyger" is so perfect for our predatory Starbuck in all her terrible beauty...
Please consider writing some more! :D

In the meantime, go read ladysisyphus's Harry Potter crackpoem of Eliot's "Wasteland". It's amazing and hilarious and priceless.
Yay for fangirl lit geeks and crackpoetry!

I can't thank you enough for directing me to that.
Whew! I'm still trembling from it! GAH! You know how to make a lit geek insane with delight.

It's still technically crack, but when you elevate the level of crack/parody to include every aspect of the original work (including analogues for the language puns, the mythological references, the contextual situations, the formatting, everything!) it becomes a thing of beauty all in itself :)
SLAIN INDEED!

And that ICON, just for ME?!
oh my God
how to express gratitude
when I can't type
?

Ah, when you came back, late, to my cracked-out LJ,
Your arms full, and your perfect icon set, I could not
Speak, and my eyes failed, I was neither
Living nor dead, and I knew nothing,
Looking into the heart of light, the silence.

And...
Here is no icon but only crack
Crack and no icons and our fangirl glee
The glee squeeing above among the crackpoems
Which are poems of crack without icons
If there were icons we should stop and squee
Amongst the crack one cannot contain their glee

Hmm. My new icon is so pretty. It deserves a poem of its own.
So much depends
upon
the red block
lettering
glazed with Adama
tears
beside the white
shirt.
