Not content with appalling the ghost of Sappho with my crackpoery, I must now make my apologies to Keats. What happens when you combine Keats' verse with "Unfinished Business"? A ballad about pilots that's become a bit more R rated than the original, that's what. This one is dedicated to my lovely f'list for digging lit geekouts -- I love you

Oh! GLEE! It was a dream of mine that maybe others would write BSG crackpoems someday, and I pestered bitterlatinist into writing limericks, but we were the only ones I knew about. I can't believe this is actually happening, thanks so much for writing! I loooove fellow lit geeks, and I don't care who frakkin' knows!

Oh, good! I was poking around for a while looking for it! Wow. I just...it's one of those things, where I don't even know what to say. I read it and I'm still just stunned. Marvelous on every level -- especially with the foreign language parts (and as a Greek/Latin teacher I especially appreciated the way they properly reworked even those bits, or if they didn't 'translate' them, made a joke! Like changing 'mon frere' to 'mon loup' in the part about Remus Lupin?! I AM SLAIN.

I can't thank you enough for directing me to that.

Whew! I'm still trembling from it! GAH! You know how to make a lit geek insane with delight.

Isn't it amazing!?! I can't even imagine all the thought that went into that.

It's still technically crack, but when you elevate the level of crack/parody to include every aspect of the original work (including analogues for the language puns, the mythological references, the contextual situations, the formatting, everything!) it becomes a thing of beauty all in itself :)
