Need help here..

Well.. I think I will just go straight to the point.. This is gonna be a short post though, since all I want to post is asking about header.

So.. Yeah, anyone could tell me how to change the header of my LJ? I want to add it with my own picture..
I've been browsing through the internet and yes I found the ways, but.. It just that.. seems I couldn't

Your english is fine, don't worry! I can try and help. I think at the moment, you've got a preset livejournal theme applied? Now, when you go to "select journal style" in your livejournal homepage (it's under the heading journal) you can either have a S1 style or a S2 style - depending on which one you have, it's a different method to change your header for both.

Here's a website that explains how to change it for both S1 and S2...

...but if you can't understand this website tutorial, then tell me and I can try and write up a full guide, with pictures and everything. If you do want me to explain, if you could tell me what style you are using at the moment, S1 or S2, that would be great. :) So again, to check whether you're using S1 or S2, go to www.livejournal.com and sign in, then under journal → select journal style, click it. Scroll down to the section 2. Select a new theme and on the left hand side in the bar, it should say

thank you so much~! Seems I use the S2 for my live journal.. oh yeah, about the link that you gave me.. that's the website that I didn't understand how to follow the steps ^^;; um.. is it okay with you? I mean, write up the full guide, with pictures and everything? I don't want to fuss you.. :)

Ahhh...ok. I followed that tutorial I gave you, and I couldn't make it work, so I found a different tutorial...you can't actually change the header, but you can add another image at the top. I'll put screenshots of everything I'm doing, ok? Sorry for the large images!!

Ok, so first of all, you need to make your header and upload it to the internet, using photobucket or whatever hosting website you know of. I'm sure you know how to do this bit :)

Secondly, go to your livejournal homepage, and go to journal → customize journal style

Hmm... I think you just need to find some lj layout and paste the code to the css box, well of course it's more than that. You just need to follow the tutorial, usually the one that makes the layout provides the tutorial too
If you want to change the header, just replace the picture link in the layout code with your own link, in that case you have to upload the picture to your own host like photobucket
Just read the layout code carefully and you'll know where to put your own picture link

yep yep, I filled the URL of my picture at the custom stylesheet while I followed the tutorial 'breen' had gave me ^^ so yeah, I finally made it~! :D
