DIREWOLF!! Uhm. sorry. But the white sheppard is gorgeous!!
And I know what you say about shelters, We have ads in the paper EVERY morning with dogs that need new homes and I would drive there and take them home every other day. They looks so cute and lonely on the pictures.
OH: EXCITEMENT! A new dog!! Life is just better with a dog-companion. At least I think so. ;)
Haha, yes, you just know a dog like that would be useful should zombies ever breach the wall. This may have influenced my decision.
Actually, our shelter had a white husky this week and while I was kind of all "!!! GHOST !!!" I managed to resist, knowing the breed's personality wasn't really a match for me (they're stubborn, I'm a pushover - it'd never work.)
I'm not sure exactly when the new dog will happen, but it's fun window-shopping at the moment. Also names! I'm leaning towards a boy dog called Pilot at the moment. With Darcy from P&P and Skulker being the dog in Wuthering Heights, I think stealing the name of Mr Rochester's dog in Jane Eyre would keep up tradition.
Now we have to wait a YEAR! OMG. CAN NOT COPE. My favourite new show!! I am rewatching season 1 now and it is so much better and sadder when you know what happens. I have never read the books but am starting now.
Like, when you know Ned dies. It is infinitely more sad when he kisses Cat Good-Bye when she came to king's landing to investigate. And it is infinitely more sad how Sansa hates him for killing her wolf. Or how he watches Arya train with needle with that serious look on his face and you are all like "OMG, she will really need to be able to fight for herself soon. wahhh!"
And Dany. How she grows.
Sorry, I am just very emotionally involved in this right now. :)
Gaaaaaaahhhhh! Need more now! I wanna know what happens with Arya and Chris-from-Skins. And the cute baby dragons. And whether Ghost will protect them all from zombies beyond the wall. And if John and the fat guy (is it Sam? I wanna say Sam, but I think I might be confusing it with LoTR) finally make out or something.
I've ordered the books but the package has been stuck in customs for 2 weeks now. Grr. It's only books and a Hemmo action figure - it's not like I'm smuggling drugs or dragon eggs or anything! Will have to start a series rewatch while I wait for them, I think. Maybe I'll manage to learn all the character's names and not be continually confused this time around. *g* So many characters!
SO MANY CHARACTERS. I am in my first landcomm now, for GoT. And everyone is throwing around names and I am like "Wha??? WHooo?" LOL.
OH YES. ARYA. I totally forgot that Chris guy was king robert's bastard son. there are just too many people, seriously. and then they die when you just learned their names.

I "aquired" audiobooks for GoT and will try to pay enough attention to those to now forget all the names. ;)
Wow, a landcomm for THIS fandom is admirable. I'd need a cheat sheet by the computer at all times for that. There are just way too many people to keep track of - and some of those Stark boys looked the same to me for a few eps before I got to know them, then that creepy little one that isn't Bran just seemed to pop up from nowhere and I cursed Ned's fertility for making things so complicated. Also all the blonde incest spawn.
I'm just hoping Chris the bastard doesn't die (especially since I'm yet to learn his name *g*). After Skins and Merlin, I don't think I could make it through another of his deaths. Especially a GoT death which are always extra traumatising. Mostly, I just want him to take the throne and knight Arya and make her his champion because that would kick ass.
Hm, maybe I should look around for the audiobooks as well. I'll need something to listen to when I resume the 40 minute walk to work each morning soon.
