Do you suppose this decade will be an improvement over the last? I mean, I'm sure I'm not alone in hoping so, but my doubts over how things can possibly turn around at this point makes me hard to be optimistic. And in turn that makes me sad

Did you ever see the movie (tv) adaptation of In This House of Brede? Diana Rigg played Dame Phillip (the main character). It came out in '75, and I actually re-watched it at some point last year. They did fairly well with the adaptation. Of course there is a lot in the book that wasn't covered in the film, but they did a fairly decent job of adapting it.

I have a vague memory of Rigg in that role - but it's been literal decades, and possibly it was in a trailer or something? maybe I'll look for that as well
