Good thought. I've had occasion to think of this sort of thing recently. Maturity and a willingness to put oneself out for the sake keeping things rolling smoothly--especially when one is not obligated--ought to be recognized more often as desirable qualities.
i had an issue with another one of my managers this last week, and i went out of my way to get it fixed, and she just was not having it. she then proceeded to tell me (rather, yell for an hour) about how i do everything wrong, i'm a bitch, etc. even though she's a lower manager than i am and has only been a manager for about 4 months. i've got a good 6 years on her.
it makes you really not want to go out of your way for people anymore, but if i didn't i would feel as if i wasn't doing my job.
it's hard to get to a happy medium with these things. i guess if you're sincerely trying though, that's what matters.
