28 How long was your longest drive in a car?

Probably 6-ish hours. My family used to go camping in Devon and Cornwall when I was a kid. It's a long drive from Liverpool, especially when there's 7 of you crammed into a 5 seater car. There was also 7 of us in the 6 man tent, and later 7 of us in the 6 berth caravan in Wales.

What about you guys?

Wow, that sounds very cramped!!

Not sure what my longest car journey was, but probably from Derby to a place near Duns in the borders of Scotland. Other journeys have been longer, but split up over two days, so I guess it depends on 'all in one go' or 'split up over two days', lol!! One of the longer ones was to somewhere in Scotland that I can't remember the name of, above Edinburgh but below Perth.

when I was probably 12 or so, my parents drove us to north carolina for a vacation. It was over 900 miles, about 1500 km, and we would drive for like 8 hours a day and then stay somewhere overnight. My mom said it was surreal, that my dad would be driving and it was just a constant long straight drive and it was like they were standing still and the clock was moving along. It was our whole family, so my brothers would have been 8 and my sister would have been 4. I can't imagine spending 15+ hours in a car with four bored kids, especially since this was obviously LONG before there were built-in video players and ipads and whatnot.

My longest trip in one day was 15 hours from Dallas, TX to St. Louis, MO. It was just my husband and I in the car, though, but after that we decided to cough up the money to fly. :)

We drove to Spain once and it took us practically 2 days with an overnight stop in France, coming home was somewhat quicker. It always feels quicker coming home. 😁
