I opened Photoshop with the sole intention of getting back to the business of iconing to the alphabet, but then I opened this cap by mistake, and this icon sprung fully-formed from my head.

I have a stupid question....did you flatten the image after your initial prep process or no? I only ask because I tend to flatten while I make my icons...

Yep, I flattened the original base. It's pretty much the only time I flatten at all - I like to keep my layers in tact.

This is your first tutorial? Pssh. You seem like a pro.
I personally would never have the patience to do this, and if I did, it would never come out like this. The icon is absolutely amazing!
*sigh* I miss Roswell, Maria was my favorite second favorite. Isabel rocked. =(
