"It means forever, Sam," *dies* Oh, Dean.

In unrelated matters, what, exactly is a timestamp?

That seems to be a common reaction with Dean ;DDD

A timestamp is a ficlet based in a 'verse. It's a called a timestamp, because it's usually written for an event that takes place down the road from the ending of the original fic. Like, if you read "mouths of decadence," then "forget the ills" is a timestamp because it's a really brief snapshot of one event in the unspecified future of the boys, whereas "fruit from the melancholy tree" is more like a sequel to MoD, because it's longer and follows the timeline set up from MoD, albeit from Sam's POV.

Dear god, I hope I made sense

Dig a wipe out of my immensely big bag and hand it to Dean.

'No (we are not friends), we are brothers' is the fundamental strength and flaw of their codependency relationship.

LOL, I got the whole idea for Sam's sticky hands after watching my nieces interact. Especially the oldest and the baby, it's so funny because the biggest girl is getting more aware of being sticky and is starting to not want to have to deal with that stuff, but she will when it comes to her little sisters, because they come first with her (she is the sweetest, big sister you can imagine).

And yeah, for the WinBros, it is and I guess that's why this little thing was written. I kinda wanted that semi awareness reflected at a young age.

I know what you mean. The only time I could flirt with the idea of another baby without shuddering is when I saw how big brothers/sisters looking after their little ones at playground.

For the WinBros, this idea of brothers are forever had to be ingrained in them since they were so very young. So much so that they, the both of them, fail to see the brother as an individual person, a lot of times.

and Man, Sammy needs a haircut!

Sweet and sad, Dean's seriousness about Sammy at such a young age.

thank you :D and yeah - it's always kinda sad thinking about how much Dean had on his shoulders when he was only a kid, himself

MY HEART. OH, MY HEART.

You do this all the time, though. Write things that make me think I'm going to explode from the aching wonderfulness.

Seriously - what a way to capture them and what they are, at such an early age. Wowowow. Going to save this and send it to Bailey and re-read it FOREVER.

ETA: OH, and your amazing ficlet drove it out of my brain temporarily, but you should totally write more in the MoD verse. *nodnod* Of course, it's not at all surprising that I would say that, but yeah. Just wanted to give that bit of encouragement.

your comments make me gleeface like crazy, just so's you know :D

And, yeah. The whole "we're not friends, we're brothers" line just kept going around my head, for days now, until I was able - barely - to come up with something for it. Yay, triple-drabbles (er)! Also, MoD - of course *snerk*

Seriously, I've been wanting to write leaving for Stanford fic for that 'verse since I finished the Sam-POV sequel. So, we'll see (also I'm thinking about writing a Dean-POV of his time with John when Sam was away, as prompted by szarabasjka. I dunno, might be fun

That's the idea. ♥

Concerning MoD...so I have my hurt/comfort bingo card, and I think I have something along the lines of "eating disorders" (or something that made me decide it was the best way to go), and while of course I want to write about Sam's preteen/early teen weight issues (they are pretty much canon), I can't think of a way to possibly tackle it without feeling like I'm completely ripping you off. *headdesk* I mean, no matter how drawn I am to the concept (srsly, I was writing fics - very badly, mind you - about eating problems and their consequences early in my fandom days), I would never have started one about teen!Sam unless I was given the prompt, because 1) you pretty much did everything awesome that could be done with it and I cannot possibly hope to add to that and 2) no way could I escape the suffocating guilt and voices screaming PLAGIARISM, because even if I make it as different as I could...it would still pretty damn obviously be influenced by you. (But then I think all my SPN fic is, to one degree or another ( ... )

you are so sweet, but no! It wouldn't be plagiarism at all! I mean, I never would have written MoD if I hadn't found the prompt over at sasquatch_love, anyway, and I'm sur there are other fic concerning this topic out there (although I haven't come across one for SPN fandom, I don't think *scratches head*).

But if it makes you feel better, feel free to write eating disorder!Sam - I will absolutely look forward to reading it (because you have a wonderful writing style and a unique perspective that'll make the subject very, very interesting!)
