i was too tired to write down every single thing i did while it was still buzzing through my head, and now it seems less urgent so i won't splash all of that all over your friends pages. :) the short version is i felt fat and lazy and out of shape and out of practice, and i didn't wind up spinning anything or doing much with fire! but had a lot ( Read more... )

apparently there are now tents which actually do this.

they've been around for about 8 years or so. unfortunately, this means that the only way to clean or dry them is to set them up in most cases. in other words, no hanging over your fence nor machine washing on gentle. also, they tend to only be 4-man domes.

at least, last time i looked at them...

oh, a 4-man dome would probably be fine for the sort of car-camping purposes i'd be likely to use it for; the one in the video moominmolly showed me looked like it was actually about the size of my 2-person backpacking tent once unfolded, only larger and more oddly-shaped when folded, i.e. much harder to take backpacking....

They have tons! a big one-man, roomy 2-man, etc. I REALLY don't need one, but boy oh boy do I want one.
