Maybe this means you weren't tired out enough and should do ten thousand chinups before climbing?

Also, yes, not a tree. *complicated sigh!*

How about intermittent tree-ness? All the superpowers, none of the pesky stuck-in-one-place-ness!

i'm not sure you can have all of the superpowers with none of the disadvantages. with great chlorophyll comes great responsibility.

Huh. At least one other person who went to Baitcon, my housemate frolain had a bug bite that swelled up past all semblance of reasonableness. I wonder what was going on.

Yay for more people climbing!

As for the muscling through thing, I can't help you with that (unless we go climbing together... remind me again why y'all live so far away?). I didn't have the muscles needed for muscling through things when I started so that was never a problem for me.

Yet another reason you should come climbing with us more often! I want to talk with someone who knows how to get through hard things without muscling through. I think maybe I should just take a class or something...

I'll totally climb with you again next time we're in the same city. When will that be? Isn't it your turn to come out here?

Classes can be useful. Many gyms have a basic technique class that isn't too expensive. Or finding anyone who is better than you (and doesn't just use muscle) who can give you some pointers...

well, it's cartoony, but fun. there are an awful lot of incredible singers at this high school; ;) also i read a cute editorial about the hundreds of thousands of dollars in royalties a real high school choir would have to pay to be allowed to perform all those songs.

i fall a little bit more in love with the character of sue, the villain of the piece, every episode. :)

i'm a little sad to see quinn echoing terri's apparent belief that male romantic partners exist to provide money; presumably the parallel between the two characters is deliberate, but quinn's otherwise portrayed as much more on the ball (and also, i really hope that isn't meant to be a generally-accepted idea in the show's culture).

also sad that mercedes doesn't get a lead part for so long, and when she finally does it's in a lackluster arrangement of "proud mary." in the pilot she angrily contends that she's a lead singer, not a backup (and with that voice, omg she is), and really, the choir seems top-heavy with lead voices; but apart from rachel's obligatory histrionics whenever anyone else gets an interesting part, there seems to be less contention for solos than i'd expected.

(well, i've just finished the season! ;)

Yeah, I agree. I mean, yes, Pretty White Girl has an exceptional voice, but she is by no means the only person in the choir who does. (And as you might guess from my capitalization, the major problem I have is that there's this really diverse cast but it's largely used as props for the white (hetero, able-bodied, etc.) leads -- this gets somewhat less true as the season goes on (I guess all large ensemble casts take a while to establish all their characters), but, sigh. Also I have to keep reminding myself that this is not a television comedy but musical theater on TV, which means that there are things that work for genre-convention reasons that I would not expect to work (e.g. protagonist described as extremely talented teacher, but having the social-awareness skills of a particularly dumb mole rat).)

That said, I mean, shiny. And often very funny.
