Французский маникюр к Франции никакого отношения не имеет. Его создатель - Джеф Пинк, американец по происхождению. В 1976 году одному из голливудских продюсеров во время работы над фильмом потребовался универсальный маникюр, который подходил ко всем без исключения многочисленным костюмам актрис. Именно тогда родилась идея придания ногтям естественного оттенка. Почему же маникюр стал "французским"? Это название было произвольным и, как рассчитывал Джеф Пинк, должно было принести новой технике Маникюра коммерческий успех. Так оно и случилось: вот уже на протяжении 30 лет модницы всего мира предпочитают недлинные естественного цвета ногти, с подчеркнутым, свободно выступающим белым краем. Правда, насколько мне известно, край не обязан быть белым...
