I don't know your family at all, but have you invited your family (especially your mother) to see the dance studio? Sometimes seeing the investment you're work hard on will make family feel better about what you're doing and see you as more of an adult.

Definitely a good idea. Preferably I'll take her over to see it when it's hopping from an event, to give her more optimism about it.
