LOL - the HelenaMeter didn't even bother to rate that one because it wasn't good enough for the effort.

I wasn't especially enamored with the movie either. I came out of it, and gods yes it seemed to last forever, not having a clue as to what I had just watched.

My only hope is that when all is said and done and all the movies have been released that I'll then understand it. For right now, not so much.

(oh I just friended you on LJ. I'm hoping to get back some of my old friends and acquaintances that I lost over the years.)

Strangely (if we look at the mixed reviews the film got), I really enjoyed it!
Of course, there was a "transition film" feeling... Few answers and lots of questions.
There wasn't the same wow factor as in the first one as we knew what to expect regarding the special effects and the film general esthetics.
But I found it well rhythmed and I loved how we went deeper into the character's minds than in the first one, giving them more depth.
I also love the ending... Some people find it too far-fetched but for me, it's clearly intended to make us wonder if it's true or not...
I also think a lot of what makes this film good are subtle references impossible to understand if you're not deep into the HP world!
The only downside for me regarding the plot is that the "fantastic beasts" are reduced to a secondary role...

I enjoyed the movie, in spite of some "Huh?" moments. I discussed it in brief on my most recent Hat Club post.
