I guess this has everything to do w/ the fact that livejournal's site /url isn't 'secure' anymore? IDK if you've noticed there's a red bar across the lock sign on your url bar. Which I can't screenshot right now - because LJ is now blocked at my work

Unfortunately there's no way to force lj into a secure connection. (you can sometimes get websites to do this by putting https:// at the start as compared to http://)

At my work only lj's that have been marked as containing adult content get blocked, I don't know if that's something you can test out?

Unfortunately as they've made no progress towards securing the site (in fact making it worse by moving the servers to Russia) I doubt this is sometime they're planning on doing.
