I believe either is correct. I personally would say I've "burned myself out" and ended up feeling "burnt out".

Both appear in our main dictionaries.

I say burnt out. "Burned out" has an American ring to me. But then, I'm Australian, so not proper British, we just beat the language up a bit. :)
